Using lower-redshift, non-CMB, data to constrain the Hubble constant and other cosmological parameters

چکیده

We use updated Hubble parameter and baryon acoustic oscillation data, as well other lower-redshift Type Ia supernova, Mg II reverberation-measured quasar, quasar angular size, H starburst galaxy, Amati-correlated gamma-ray burst to jointly constrain cosmological parameters in six models. The joint analysis provides model-independent determinations of the constant, $H_0=69.7\pm1.2$ $\rm{km \ s^{-1} Mpc^{-1}}$, current non-relativistic matter density parameter, $\Omega_{m0}=0.295\pm0.017$. These error bars are factors 2.2 2.3 larger than corresponding flat $\Lambda$CDM model from Planck TT,TE,EE+lowE+lensing cosmic microwave background anisotropy data. Based on deviance information criterion (DIC), is most favored but mild dark energy dynamics a little spatial curvature not ruled out.

Cosmological Constraints from Hubble Parameter versus Redshift Data

We use the Simon, Verde, & Jimenez (2005) determination of the redshift dependence of the Hubble parameter to constrain cosmological parameters in three dark energy cosmological models. We consider the standard ΛCDM model, the XCDM parameterization of the dark energy equation of state, and a slowly rolling dark energy scalar field with an inverse power-law potential. The constraints are restric...

Cosmological Parameters and Hyper-Parameters: The Hubble Constant from Boomerang and Maxima

We generalise the procedure for joint estimation of cosmological parameters to allow freedom in the relative weights of various probes. This is done by including in the joint Likelihood function a set of ‘Hyper-Parameters’, which are dealt with using Bayesian considerations. The resulting algorithm is simple to implement. We illustrate the method by estimating the Hubble constant H0 from the re...

Using Galaxy Cluster Peculiar Velocities to Constrain Cosmological Parameters

Galaxy cluster peculiar velocities can be inferred from high–sensitivity, high–resolution multiple–frequency observations in the 30 to 400 GHz range. While galaxy cluster counts and power spectra are sensitive to the growth factor, peculiar velocities are sensitive to the time–derivative of the growth factor and are hence complementary. Using linear perturbation theory, we forecast constraints ...

Bayesian ‘Hyper-Parameters’ Approach to Joint Estimation: The Hubble Constant from CMB Measurements

Recently several studies have jointly analysed data from different cosmological probes with the motivation of estimating cosmological parameters. Here we generalise this procedure to take into account the relative weights of various probes. This is done by including in the joint χ function a set of ‘Hyper-Parameters’, which are dealt with using Bayesian considerations. The resulting algorithm (...

Joint estimation of cosmological parameters from CMB and IRAS data

Observations of large scale structure (LSS) and the Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) each place separate constraints on the values of cosmological parameters. We calculate a joint likelihood based on various CMB experiments and the IRAS 1.2Jy galaxy redshift survey and use this to find an overall optimum with respect to the free parameters. Our formulation self-consistently takes account of th...
